This “Historic to Modern Port” is not a resort town but rather an authentic working port – so don’t expect posh surroundings. However, the proximity to the historical sites and recreation options are the luxuries.

The annual Red Bull GRC finals will be held this year on October 14, 2017. Phineas Banning and his sons loved fast coaches and competition, and they would have loved the GRC. Historic Avalon Blvd. is also the home of the LA Galaxy Soccer Team. This professional team plays their home games at the STUBHUB Center in the neighboring community of Carson. The season begins in late February and runs through October.

This is a 9-hole par 36 regulation course located on the Westside of the community. Harbor Park features a beautiful rolling layout with trees framing most fairways. The course has narrow fairways and fast well-bunkered greens with water hazards on many holes. This is a medium length regulation course – the total yardage from the blue tees is 6,419.

Los Verdes Golf Course is a beautiful, Billy Bell-designed course that offers the best ocean views in the entire state of California. The nearby ocean makes putting a real challenge on almost every hole. Los Verdes Golf Course is considered by many to be one of the best golf values anywhere, tucked above the cliffs in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. In 2011 Los Verdes was honored to receive the Los Angeles County Course of the Year Award.
